The Quest For Straight Hair – The Weirdest Ways Ever For Straight Hair

Some women are born with hair that is naturally curly. While curls can be considered a blessing for some, others cannot stand the fact that their hair is wavy. To get their hair a flat as possible, some women have gone to some pretty great lengths. Do you have curly hair and are dying to get it nice and straight? How far would you go to get hair that was as straight as a ruler? Here are some of the weirdest things that women have done to get those curly locks as straight as a board.

Using cans as rollers: One old fashioned way that women would straighten their hair, in the days before the flat iron was invented, was to take the small orange juice cans that kids often were packed in their lunch boxes and use them as rollers. The cans were small and metal, which made them strong enough to be used in this way. A girl would simply take a shower, then wrap her hair in these wide cans and then go to bed to let it dry. In the morning once the cans were removed, the dried hair was now ready to be brushed out and was nice and straight.

Ironing the hair: A trick that is used even in today’s more modern times, is for a woman to have her hair ironed. Though flat irons do exist for hair now, sometimes they do not get as hot as woman would like to really get her hair nice and straight. With the help of someone and a wet towel, the hair is placed on an ironing board and a person carefully uses the iron to go over the curly locks. Some women use the wet towel over their hair to protect it, while some just use the iron on their hair directly. One word of caution though is to be very carefully. Many women have gotten the iron too close to their heads and have accidently burned their faces or their scalps. Anyone that wants to give this a try please be sure that help is available, this is a task that requires one woman assistant to help.

Curly hair can be a blessing for those that want it, but a curse to those that do not. There are many ways to get the flat straight hair you want, but some women have resorted to unusual ways. If you are serious about getting the curls taken out of your hair, the best thing you can do is talk to a hair professional to see what products or styling tools he or she recommends.
